There are currently 3 active distilleries in Pontarlier, of which two -
François Guy and Emile Pernot - make traditionally distilled absinthe.

Emile Pernot's remarkable specialist absinthe still, manufactured by Egrot, and identical to those
illustrated in late 19th century trade catalogues. Note in particular the two rectifying balls at the top.
Leaning against the wall behind the still can be seen two original wooden herb shutes.
