Absinthe Pyrogenes Bell Pyrogenes
Porcelain matchstrikers, known as "Pyrogene" after one of the major manufacturers, were a feature of
every bistrot table. Many carried advertising for the leading absinthe marques. The striking surface was
usually porcelain, occasionally a wooden insert.
