A letter dated  "Paris, 29 Quai Conti, 16 janvier 1904"  from Armand
d'Artois, playwright and author of vaudeville sketches, to Lucien
Descaves, president of the Académie Goncourt, proposing a new work
entitled "La Verte":

"J'ai remis il y a quelque temps à Antoine une pièce en deux actes
intitulée "La Verte", contre l'absinthisme et ses suites. Bon ou
mauvais, c'est très exact d'observation scientifique et assez curieux de
forme..."

Artois is best remembered for his collaboration with François Coppée.
