Absinthe Images - Royalty Free Licensing
The Virtual Absinthe Museum showcases the largest collection of original absinthe related art, antiques,
posters, advertising cartons, postcards, illustrated journals, books and ephemera in existence.

We offer a comprehensive and professional service for companies wishing to license images derived from
the collection, for use online, in print, and for TV and film production.

These images are particularly evocative and appropriate not just for absinthe itself, but also to illustrate the general
era (Paris 1900's, the Belle Epoch), the milieu (bistro and café life, the Moulin Rouge and Montmartre) the artists and
artistic movements of the time (art nouveau, impressionism, Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec, Monet, Manet, Picasso,
Braque), the writers of the day (Verlaine, Rimbaud, Hemingway, Oscar Wilde) and the medical, social and political
issues involved (19th century French politics, the temperance movement, prohibition, alcoholism and
anti-alcoholism, eugenics, drugs and drug-abuse).

The Virtual Museum has a separate, much smaller image archive, dealing specifically with the Dreyfus Affair, Zola
and the issue of French anti-semitism.

All images are scanned or professionally photographed, and distributed digitally in ultra high resolution 300dpi TIF or
JPEG format. They are usually very similar but
not identical to the images shown on the website (which are in
most cases deliberately downgraded to discourage unauthorised use). Sample full size images can be provided on
request for proofing and quality evaluation purposes.

For most applications we offer royalty free licensing, and our rates are extremely competitive.

Existing clients include book publishers in the UK, US and France, the New York Times and International Herald
Tribune, the Tate Gallery, and the Discovery and National Geographic TV Channels.
